ACTIVA™ BioACTIVE Bulk Flow™ is a next-generation bulk-fill solution. Built on the success of the ACTIVA line, this self-leveling, one-step1 bulk fill raises the standard of care for a variety of everyday procedures.

ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow supports the natural remineralization process2 to protect against microleakage and secondary caries.3 With unlimited depth of cure4 and numerous provider efficiencies, ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow is the ultimate Class II solution. Use as a dentin replacement or single-step bulk fill—capping layer is optional.

ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow is part of Pulpdent’s advanced ACTIVA patient treatment system. ACTIVA materials feature patient-centric benefits, such as natural remineralization support, along with SMART™ polymer technologies that allow for provider ease and efficiency.

Bulk-fill Ease & Efficiency

• Use as a dentin replacement, or bulk fill in one step3 (unlimited depth of cure4)
• Can be used with or without a capping layer
• Patented stress reduction monomer (MODULUS™), best-in-class shrinkage stress rate5

Remineralization Support

• Fluoride, calcium, and phosphate release & recharge
• Defends against microleakage via mineral apatite formation2
• Biofilm modulation6

Universal Shade

• ShadeFusion™ technology replaces common VITA shades
• Optimal chroma and translucency, highly esthetic
• Simplifies inventory

FAQs

What is ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow? ACTIVA BioACTIVE is a unique resin based composite augmented with a small amount of glass ionomer. A new category of biomaterial, closest to the physical properties and compatibility uses of a composite, with unique capabilities of remineralization support, mineral apatite formation, and biofilm modulation primarily from Pulpdent’s proprietary ionic polymer matrix (ION-X™) technology.
Which adhesive/bonding systems are compatible with ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow? ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow is compatible with all adhesive systems, including total etch (etch & rinse), self-etch and selective-etch (Universal) systems.
Will an adhesive or bonding system interfere with bioactive remineralization support? ACTIVA’s remineralization support works with (by stabilizing and reinforcing) and through the adhesive/hybrid layer. ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow should always be used with an adhesive.
Do you need to use a capping layer of universal composite on the occlusal? No, ACTIVA BioACTIVE is engineered to have excellent wear resistance (see third party independent chewing simulation data) without the need for any capping layer. However, clinicians may choose to do so if desired based on their clinical judgment and technique preferences.
Which functional monomer technologies are present in ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow? ION-X™ hydrophilic ionic matrix, WETBOND™ Moisture-tolerant acidic functional monomer, and MODULUS™ elastomeric functional monomer (Anti-stress & fracture resistance).
What is the difference between ACTIVA BioACTIVE Bulk Flow and ACTIVA BioACTIVE Restorative? Primarily handling and viscosity. Bulk Flow is self-leveling and has higher flow rate and comes in a smaller plunger-style syringe (3ml/5gm). Restorative is stackable and higher viscosity, and comes in a larger syringe (5ml/8gm) and requires the use of a dispenser.
