FAQs

The high accuracy coded scan bodies can only be applied on AoralScan Elite with intraoral photogrammetry (IPG) technology.

In genral, normal rinse will not cause any damage. However, rough friction can ruin the markers on the surface of coded scan bodies, resulting in difficulties or even failures to recognize the coded scan bodies, furthermore, poor accuracy.

Elite applied IPG to scan the coded scan bodies to capture the markers, and acquire the data from the library. On the other hand, Elite still applies feature stiching to scan temporary teeth, edentulous jaws, natural teeth and bite.

Eg. There are 2 coded scan bodies from the I kit and the II kit of HACS-A series with the same length and number. Are the markers of the 2 scan bodies same?

Different kits with their unique serial number will be correspond to different libraries. Hence, if users mix up these coded scan bodies, it may show the images of coded scan bodies when some markers are similar. However, there is no accuracy in the scanning result.

  • Same direction of the tail ends

When installing the coded scan bodies, we need to ensure the tail ends point to the same direction to form a fan shape. If there is inadequate space, it is also acceptable to arrange the coded scan bodies along the residue ridge.

  • Appropriate Gap

It is necessary to keep proper gaps among coded scan bodies.

If the gap is extremely distant, it is difficult to get a smooth transition in the scanning stage.

In the software, you can check the utilization times. We recommend users not to use the coded scan bodies after 300 times. Additionally, the coded scan bodies cannot be utilized any more after 1000 times.
